Two hundred transactions were completed for the sale of assets of foreign companies leaving the Russian market.
Foreign investors who left the Russian market and sold their business in the Russian Federation withdrew about $36 billion from the country in one year. This was reported by Reuters.
Dozens of the world’s largest companies have left or reduced their activities in Russia in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Last week, the Russian central bank said there were about 200 sales transactions in March 2022-2023, with only 20% involving the sale of large assets worth more than $100 million.
“Predestination to the fulfillment of the Pareto 80/20 rule, in terms of the size of assets, it is possible to estimate the amount of capital withdrawn by foreign investors from Russia at the level of $36 billion,” said Maxim Osadchiy , head of the analytical department of the Russian bank BKF.
It was previously reported that at the end of May, EU countries froze 24.1 billion euros belonging to individuals and legal entities that fell under anti-Russian sanctions.
