The company said it would help stabilize the energy system during repairs to power plants affected by Russia’s shelling.
Increasing generation at TPPs and intensifying imports at times of consumption will help stabilize the situation in the energy sector during the power plant overhaul. Dmitry Sakharuk, Executive Director of DTEK, announced this on his Facebook page.
“Our country is entering a regime of dynamic export-import flows with EU countries. This is a common practice for the European continent, when at night or even at some time during the day “The country will export excess electricity and import solar,” he wrote.
Sakharuk noted that Ukraine’s successful integration into the European network of ENTSO-E power transmission system operators has given the system additional flexibility.
“We will maintain exports in overtime and increase imports in times of peak consumption. This will allow us to avoid restrictions during repair campaigns in generating facilities ,” he explained.
Sakharuk added that some of the nuclear power units have already been taken for scheduled repairs.
“Active work is being carried out at CHPPs and TPPs in preparation for the next autumn-winter season. All work is being carried out according to a schedule that will allow the equipment to be prepared for higher loads during the heat,” summed up the executive director of DTEK.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada said that solar energy will help to avoid power shortages during the repair of power plants.
