In April, sales jumped 153% from last year, indicating a closer economic relationship between Beijing and Moscow.
China’s exports to Russia hit a record high in April, rising to $9.6 billion, up 153% from a year earlier. This was reported on May 10 by Bloomberg.
It was noted that after the initial decline that occurred due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, China’s trade increased dramatically. It reached its second-highest level in history at around $19 billion, just short of its March peak.
The largest item of Chinese exports (about 20%) is “transport equipment”, where Chinese customs classify cars and spare parts for them. About 15% of exports belong to electronics, another 24% includes industrial equipment and spare parts.
It was earlier reported that India and China in April this year bought most of Russian oil at prices above the price limit of $60 per barrel.
