The total cost of the project is UAH 350 million. Some necessary equipment was provided free of charge by the Polish partners.
Ukrenergo and Polish transmission system operator PSE have upgraded a powerful transmission line between Poland and Ukraine. This was reported to the Ukrainian company on Tuesday, May 2.
It is indicated that the restored interconnector in Poland has been in operation since April 27 and has worked successfully for three days in test mode.
“This interstate transmission line means additional reliability of the Ukrainian energy system as part of the European network,” the company said.
The total length of the line is almost 400 km, more than 70% of them pass through the territory of Ukraine. The line is connected to the main network through an open switchgear in one of the Ukrainian energy facilities.
“The majority of the work was carried out at this node so that the electricity generated by the Ukrainian energy system could be converted to a European voltage of 400 kV and transferred to Europe. 125 specialists (45 employees of Ukrenergo and 80 contractor) worked on the construction of the facility from Ukraine for five months during the war “, – added to Ukrenergo.
The total cost of the project is UAH 350 million. In addition, some necessary equipment was provided free of charge by the Polish partners.
Recall that Ukraine recently expanded the possibility of importing electricity from the EU. The increase in this technical capability takes into account the launch of a new interconnector between Ukraine and Poland.
At the same time, according to the results of April, Ukraine significantly reduced the import of electricity, because the energy system has a stable surplus since the beginning of spring.
