It was noted that Ryzhenkov spoke at a conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which took place on April 26 in Rome with the participation of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni.
According to Yuri Ryzhenkov, Metinvest as a potential steel supplier is considering strategic partnerships with Italian companies in Ukraine. We are talking about cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure (roads, bridges, ports), energy infrastructure (energy production and supply), social infrastructure (schools, hospitals, other public institutions).
“Ukraine has lost the production of rails and slabs because of the damaged plants in Mariupol. On the one hand, this is a problem, because Italy is a big buyer of Ukrainian slabs. But on the other hand, it is an opportunity for the recovery of Ukraine, because these are the most obvious areas that need investment. One of the first drafts of the Ukraine Recovery Plan, published last year, already contains initiatives that Italian businesses can participate in. And here Metinvest I am ready to work with him to implement the plan for the restoration of Ukraine,” stressed Ryzhenkov.
He added Metinvest in cooperation with Italian companies strive to improve the technological level of metallurgical production in Ukraine and become part of the process of green transformation of the European industry.
In his speech at the conference, President Volodymyr Zelensky also emphasized that Ukraine has great potential for the development of green metallurgy.
“From iron ore to lithium and other resources that the world is most in demand – it’s all Ukraine. From natural gas to titanium … We can provide – and we will provide! – all this to global market. In many ways, we will be able to replace companies from Russia – which chose to work for war, not global development,” said the head of state.
before Metinvest reported on taxes for 2022. The group paid 20.5 billion hryvnias for the year, despite the war in the country.
also in Metinvest told how they helped Ukraine from the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia.
