According to him, the International Development Association – IDA (International Development Association) is expanding the support package for Ukraine and creating a separate fund – SPURR (Special Program for Recovery and Crisis Response of Ukraine). Its feature is the ability to increase the funds attracted to it, thanks to which Ukraine can receive $6 billion in aid.
“In the near future, it (the fund – ed.) will be announced, its name will be SPURR and the total size will be $2 billion. $6 billion in aid,” he said.
Marchenko pointed out that these are loans from the World Bank, and stressed that the multiplier effect is very important.
The head of the Ministry of Finance also said that the issue of compensation for interest rates on soft loans given to Ukraine, including for restoration, is being discussed.
“It is important that this new currency does not affect our debt service obligations. It is also important for the IMF program, to maintain debt sustainability. Therefore, we ask our partners for rate compensation of interest if the loans are given through the World Bank,” he explained. minister
Marchenko recalled that the mechanism for paying the credit rate is already in place for macro-financial assistance from the European Union for 18 billion euros for this year.
Recall that this week Ukraine received the third tranche in the amount of 1.5 billion euros from the EU. These funds are provided on unprecedented favorable terms.
