Apple opened its first branded store in India – in Mumbai. Information about this appeared on the Indian section of the company’s website.
“Hi Mumbai! Our first store in the country is here,” the post read.
Apple CEO Tim Cook attended the opening ceremony. He posted a photo on Twitter of him welcoming the first visitors to the store’s doors.
“The energy, creativity and passion in Mumbai is incredible! We are excited to open the Apple BKC store – our first store in India,” said Cook.
The company’s second store will open on April 20 in the Delhi metropolitan area.
