The company exceeded the government -approved financial plan, and payments to the state budget also increased.
The net income of Naftogaz Group in 2021 reached UAH 12 billion. This was confirmed by the consolidated financial report, approved by the board, the company’s press service said the other day.
“State-owned companies should be profitable under normal conditions. Given the size of Naftogaz, such revenues are not excessive due to its invested capital and costs. At the same time, the data indicates that Naftogaz will be profitable in 2021 even without gas transit, ”said NJSC board leader Yuriy Vitrenko who added that in 2019 Naftogaz received a record revenue, but this result was achieved precisely through transit.
According to him, not all business segments were profitable last year. In particular, gas import, trade and supply activity is unprofitable. Gas storage activities are also not profitable.
“The loss in 2020 is not normal, because it was a peaceful year. We fixed it,” Vitrenko added.
It was also noted that in 2021 Naftogaz significantly exceeded the financial plan approved by the government, and also increased payments to the state budget.
Recall that by the end of 2020, Naftogaz received a loss of UAH 19 billion against revenue of UAH 2.6 billion a year earlier. The unsatisfactory annual report was the reason for the dismissal of NAC leader Andrey Kobolev. The company’s entire supervisory board also resigned.
