Officially, the program of financial support for Ukraine should be announced on Wednesday, its size is not called.
The European Commission plans to offer a new financial assistance package to Ukraine this week, Reuters wrote on Monday, May 16th.
According to the publication, the assistance will include new loans to provide immediate liquidity to Ukraine and long -term promises to finance the country’s recovery.
The amount of short -term financial support is still determined.
At the same time, sources of the publication said that the assistance will approximately cover the financial needs of Ukraine for two months, mainly through loans.
It specified that the funds would come from the EU budget and from EU governments.
Thus, it was decided to abandon the plans according to which funds could be raised in the market on the issuance of joint bonds supported by the EU budget, the newspaper notes.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has already received 5 billion dollars out of 11 billion, talking to international partners.
In general, Ukraine expects to receive several grants and loans from partner countries and international financial institutions in May.
