The market for new luxury cars in Russia fell by 53%

Deliveries of almost all premium cars in the Russian market have stopped due to sanctions.

Sales of new luxury cars in Russia fell by 53% in January-February 2023. This was reported on March 31 by the analytical agency Avtostat.

It was noted that in the first two months of this year, only 56 copies of luxury brand cars were sold in the Russian Federation.

In the first two months of this year, 16 new Bentleys, 13 Rolls-Royces, 10 Lamborghini supercars were bought in Russia. In addition, the Russians also bought 7 Maseratis, 5 Aurus, 4 Ferraris and an Aston Martin.

After the start of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, official deliveries of almost all premium cars to the Russian market were stopped due to sanctions.

At the same time, the possibility of buying luxury cars imported into Russia under the parallel import scheme remained.

It will be recalled that in February, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia decreased by 62.1% to 41,851 units, which is 68,590 units less than in February 2022.

Earlier it was reported that cars from only two countries are now represented in the Russian automotive market – China and the Russian Federation itself.
