The Demurinsky mining and processing plant, located in the Dnepropetrovsk region, is owned by Russian oligarch Mikhail Shelkov.
The State Property Fund is preparing for the privatization of the Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant, which was owned by Russian businessman Mikhail Shelkov before the confiscation. This was announced in an interview with Forbes by the head of the State Property Fund, Rustem Umerov.
According to him, the properties of the fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych and the Russian oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenkov, as well as the Demurinsky GOK, which until recently belonged to the Russian oligarch Mikhail Shelkov, have been transferred to the Fund.
“We are preparing to put Demurinsky GOK for privatization. We are still working on receiving management of other assets,” said Umerov.
The head of the State Property Fund noted that with the transfer to the Fund of other Russian properties that will be confiscated, they will also be sent for privatization.
The Nikolaev alumina refinery of the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska has not yet legally entered the management of the State Property Fund. However, once this happens, the Foundation will put it up for auction.
“In general, it takes 60-90 days to prepare something for privatization. It is realistic to start the privatization of the plant in the second or third quarter of this year,” specified Umerov.
Recall that in February the court confiscated the Demurinsky mining and processing plant from Russian oligarch Mikhail Shelkov within the limits of the sanctions applied to him.
