Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), Alex Contreraspointed out that Government has an estimate of additional measures in the amount 4 billion suns to provide emergency assistance due to the past rains in the country.
He said that the use of this economic resource has three goals: to guarantee recovery, immediately respond to rain emergencies, and implement preventive measures and restore production activities.
“As noted, the implementation of the plan ‘Punch Peru’ This played a key role in the economic recovery we saw in February and March. We expect it to reach close to 4% in April. However, as noted, there are significant climate risks,” he said at a press conference after the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
On the other hand, he argued that the plan guaranteed the restoration of productive capacity, “ensuring the victims’ families the opportunity to normalize their lives again through a series of intersectoral mechanisms.”
Governmental support
Similarly, it ratified a reactivation pledge to provide funding for emergency relief. He added that they are going to replace the costs of regional governments and local governments so that they are ready.
“It is possible to use other sources besides specific emergency budgets, except for investment projects. Additionally, the percentage of utilization of the canon will be increased from 20% to 50%,” he added.
He also pointed out that there is a recovery plan for micro and small businesses (mypes), as well as a number of measures from social housing and financing mechanisms for urban development plans.
“All this combination of measures in these three areas: emergency care, restoration of production capacity and preventive measures is estimated at 4 billion soles,” he repeated.
