He mentioned that today, together with the World Bank, he presented an updated Rapid Damage and Recovery Needs Assessment (RDNA2).

“The amount of damage caused and recovery needs do not yet include data on the loss of infrastructure, housing and businesses in the occupied territories. When the Defense Forces release them, we expect the data to increase, and the government will will immediately begin work on the restoration of these territories,” – wrote Schmigal.

He added that handling the second phase of RDNA2 is an important element in Ukraine’s recovery strategy.

“Energy infrastructure, housing, critical infrastructure, economy and humanitarian demining are our five priorities for this year. Part of the restoration work has already been done, and I am grateful for this to our partners from the EU, the US and the World Bank,” added the head of government.

He also expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for the up-to-date and thorough analysis, which will be an important tool for Ukraine and partners in implementing the recovery projects that have already begun.

On the eve of the World Bank said that the restoration of the Ukrainian economy will cost 411 billion dollars. The amount of funds needed has increased significantly from the $349 billion estimate released in September last year.

It has also been reported that rebuilding Ukraine after the war may require up to 1 trillion euros (1.1 trillion dollars). Such data was announced by the head of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Werner Hoyer.
