The IMF believes that a full loan for Ukraine is possible, although these are not usually given to warring countries.
The mission of the International Monetary Fund began to discuss with representatives of Ukraine the parameters of the new loan program. This was announced on Wednesday, March 8, by Ukrinform in connection with the statement of the permanent representative of the fund in Ukraine Vahram Stepanyan.
“An IMF mission led by Gavin Gray is beginning discussions today with the Ukrainian authorities about a potential IMF-supported program,” the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that from March 8 to March 15, an IMF mission will work in Warsaw, where the parameters of a potential program for Ukraine will be discussed.
Recall that in 2023 Ukraine needs 10 billion dollars of additional external financing to cover the state budget deficit.
At the same time, the IMF said that they consider a full loan for Ukraine possible, although it is usually not given to warring countries.
