Citizens of Ukraine in February 2023 sold cash and non-cash money in commercial banks in the amount of $1,112.8 million (equivalent) and bought it in the amount of $1,617.6 million. The net purchase of foreign currency reached $504.8 million, the National Bank reported on Friday, February 3.
So, in February, Ukrainians reduced their purchases of foreign currency by $59.2 million compared to January, when they bought a record $564.0 million.
The data also show that about one-third of the demand ($433 million) in February fell on non-cash currency, which Ukrainians buy in banks at a rate close to the official one (UAH 36.6), while in cash market the exchange rate fluctuates. about 40 Hryvnia per dollar.
