Over the weekend, the government released the provisions of the Teleworking Act, which states that a worker has the ability to request this type of work from their company.

This request for distant work It must be provided via digital or face-to-face communication and the company must respond within 10 business days.

“This should be implemented by mutual agreement, that is, the employee and the employer should agree that this should materialize in a document, physical or virtual, where we establish whether remote work will be full, whether it will be hybrid, whether it will be permanent or on a certain period of time,” said trade union activist Pamela Navarro.

But what happens if company deny permission to this request?

As indicated, companies must explain the objective reasons for the refusal of this decision, but if this is not indicated, then the request is considered to have been approved.

If a company submits a document in support of its refusal, it must be taken into account that the possible reasons for the refusal of employment should be based on the dynamics of the business. Here are some of the possible reasons:

Taking these points into account, sectors where teleworking would be more difficult to implement include mining, construction, customer service, agriculture and fishing.

Areas where remote work can be done without major complications are telemarketing, e-commerceadministration, accounting, finance and human resources.
