Legal gaming business operators fully support state actions aimed at increasing state budget revenues. This was said by the head of the UGC, Anton Kuchukhidze.
“Our vision is very simple: we want to support our country as much as possible in the effort to fill the state budget, and we proved it before the start of the second wave of Russian aggression on February 24, 2022: all the license obligations of legal companies for 2021 have been fulfilled,” he said.
According to him, the Russian military invasion has drastically changed the opportunities and economic conditions for the development of the gaming business: legal gaming establishments are located in front-line cities, and some is under occupation, there is no tourist flow required for. the development of land-based gambling, forced internal displacement of the population has also changed the demographic situation, there have been major problems in the provision of electricity to related legal establishments. The number of land-based illegal gaming businesses will also increase.
“Despite the above, we are still ready to fill the state budget, especially during the war. But please consider the fact that Ukraine has the largest royalties in Europe, and at the same time, terrorist Russia is waging the largest continental war in Europe since World War II against our state. world war,” the statement said.
Legal operators are requesting the government to increase the terms of payment of license fees up to 180 calendar days.
Also, for the period of martial law, the fee for a license to organize and conduct gambling in casino gambling establishments for the city of Kiev is set at 18,000 minimum wages and 9,000 minimum wages for others more settlements.
Also set the possibility for operators to pay license fees for every 3 months of license validity.
“We are convinced that the implementation of these positions will help the state maintain the scope of legal gambling, and we will fill the state budget,” said Kuchukhidze.
In 2021-2023, the state budget, according to the parliamentary VSK, received UAH 4.14 billion from the legal gambling business.
