As part of the Grain from Ukraine program, Ukraine provides food to countries on the brink of starvation.
43 countries have joined the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program. This was said by the Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, coordinator of the Council of Exporters and Investors Olga Trofimtseva, reports Ukrinform.
“Today, 43 countries are participating in the Grain from Ukraine program. Thanks to the contributions of our partners, we have been able to buy food wheat from our farmers in the first place and send it to countries that need grains the most this,” he said.
Trofimtseva said that within the framework of the program, Ukraine provides food to countries on the brink of starvation.
In total, partner countries have allocated nearly $200 million to finance it. As part of the program, 110 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat have already been received by one of the most vulnerable countries in Africa – Ethiopia and Somalia.
It is understood that Moscow considers it “unreasonable” to extend the grain agreement unless Russia lifts sanctions affecting its agricultural exports.
