This indicator shows how much money is spent on construction Public Works such as hospitals, roads, schools, etc., for each resident depending on the area in which they live.

As expected, the data show a large inequalitysince so far in the districts of the region Amazon As in Amashka, SGD 5 per person has been spent over the past five years, in the Arequipa area of San Juan de Ciguas, SGD 250,000 per inhabitant has been invested.

Another region whose districts receive a large amount of resources is Lima. “There are areas in Lima where an average investment of S$30,000 per person and other areas where barely S$3 per person is invested,” said Economics and Finance Minister Alex Contreras.

On this Economy Minister Alex Contreras He explained that they are trying to resolve this situation and for this they are studying how resources will be distributed more efficiently in order to reduce disparities between districts.

To do this, they are considering improving the distribution of budgets, especially in order to link jobs that are performed separately depending on the level of management.

It is known that throughout the country there is a large concentration of private investment in nine districts of the country, which combine 191 districts, despite the fact that 780,000 people living in these parts of Peru have unmet basic needs; In addition, they support a total of 69 social conflicts.

“We have to reallocate projects based on their needs and feedback from those projects,” Contreras said.

They seek to promote public and private alliances (PPPs)

According to the MEF, it aims to encourage more active project implementation to close infrastructure gaps, so this year it plans to make at least 15 grants worth about $2,471 million in public-private partnership projects.

In recent years, such projects have not attracted much attention. In 2021 alone, 3 projects worth US$78 million were awarded, and in 2022 there was only one project of this type.

Alex Contreras stressed that he also seeks to strengthen the infrastructure tax mechanism.
