Over the past four years, private schools have received 1,731 sanctions and 2,021.4 UIT in fines, equivalent to S$10,005,930, according to Indecopi.
As they point out, the main reason for these sanctions, which concentrates 64.4%, is “unsuitable”. This means that there are differences between what the consumer expects to get from it and what he actually gets.
On the other hand, Indecopi indicates that other types of sanctioned behavior affecting parents involve a breach of duty to provide information.
The latter implies the absence attention information needs, lack of information about economic conditions, etc. For this reason, 111 sanctions and 121.7 UST in the form of fines were imposed on private schools.
Most sanctions were registered in Lima (724), followed by La Libertad (166), Junin (152), Puno (114) and Arequipa (109).
