The refrigerated vessel ZEINAB delivered over 519 tons of fruit from Egypt. Before the war, citrus fruits took over the ports of Big Odessa.
For the first time since the independence of Ukraine, the port of Reni has received a new cargo flow – citrus fruits from Egypt. This was announced on February 8 by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration (USPA).
“Last week, a refrigerated vessel ZEINAB arrived at the port of Reni, equipped with improved ventilation and refrigeration units for the transport of perishable goods,” USPA said.
It was found that 519.9 tons of fruit arrived from Egypt: 150.3 tons of oranges, 169.4 tons of pomegranates, 31.05 tons of lemons and 169 tons of oranges.
As specified in the USPA, traditional citrus fruits are overloaded in the ports of Chernomorsk and Odessa.
“Now the ports of Greater Odessa operate only within the framework of the “grain initiative”, therefore, cargo owners are forced to look for other ways to deliver citrus fruits,” emphasized of the company.
