At the moment, the most difficult situation is in the Odessa region: it takes several days to stabilize there.
Due to Russian attacks, about 75% of Ukraine’s entire thermal generation suffered and had to be restored. Dmitry Sakharuk, Executive Director of DTEK, announced this on the air of the Rada TV channel.
“We need to restore about 7.5 gigawatts of installed thermal generation capacity. This is almost 75% of all thermal generation available in the country. This is a huge breakdown that needs to be restored to the grid as soon as possible,” he says.
In addition, Sakharuk said that as a result of the latest Russian attack on the energy infrastructure, a very difficult situation has arisen in the supply of energy in the Odessa region: it takes several days to stabilize there.
“Now the power engineers will clean the rubble. They will see what happened and they will repair it. They will repair it to restore electricity to the homes of Ukrainians as soon as possible. There is a lot of work,” Said Sakharuk.
It will be recalled that on January 26, Russian terrorists launched another massive missile attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. In total, the Russians fired 55 missiles across Ukraine, 47 of which hit the Ukrainian air defense forces, three of which missed the target. However, electricity facilities were damaged in some regions, including in the Odessa region. In the evening, DTEK reported that in Odessa it is possible to connect all hospitals, boiler houses, pumping stations and other critical infrastructure to the power supply.
