National Institute of Civil Defense (St.indecisive) confirmed the closure of more than 50 ports north of Peru due to anomalous waves registered on the coast of the country.
According to the institute, 56 houses located in the districts of Tumbes, Piura had to be closed on this occasion; also in La Libertad and Ancash.
What ports were closed?
In Tumbes, the closed ports are Zorritos and Pizarro, while in piura there is Payta and Bayovar.
The bays of La Cruz, Grau, Acapulco, Cancas, Mancora, Los Organos, El Yuro, Cabo Blanco, Lobitos, San Pablo, Chulilyache, Matacaballo, Parachique, Puerto Rico, Colan and La Islilla were also closed.
Indeci also confirmed the suspension of all water sports as well as fishing in beach areas.
In La Libertad, the ports of Pacasmayo, Malabrigo, Salaverri were also closed; in addition to the bays of Magdalena de Cao, Huanchaco.
It was also closed in Chimbota and its Santa and Koishko bays. Casma and Huarmey closed in Ancash.
