The political crisis and shutdown due to protests will prevent the creation of about 100,000 jobs, according to United Mypes Association From Peru.

This job cut in mypes will affect not only January, but the following months as well.

“Definitely, hiring They will drop sharply, by my estimates, by about 100,000 jobs in the next three to four months,” Daniel Hermosa, director of the MYPE Research Center, told RPP.

As a result of the protests, micro and small businesses are estimating losses of around S$60 million a day.

“Forecasts in many sectors are still regrettable. We predict that since they began on January 4, these mobilization We could reach between 800 million and 900 million salts of losses that have accumulated as a result of these protests,” he said.

A spokesman for mypes union says the sectors most affected are trade, services, agriculture and tourism.

How much is the country losing?

Economist and director of Phase Consultores Juan Carlos Odar clarifies that the regions paralyzed by the protests account for 0.15% of GDP.

“The estimated cost of targeted protests in south this is about 31 million dollars a day, or about 120 million soles, which is 0.15% of monthly GDP,” he said.

Odar adds that with the December strikes, economic growth would be close to 0% this month, and there is a risk that GDP will show a negative value in January.
