Three Greek tankers carrying Russian crude oil arrived in the Laconian Gulf before Christmas, Andrei Klimenko said.
The first attempt by the “group” of a serious violation of the EU embargo on sea imports of Russian crude oil was recorded. Andrey Klymenko, head of the Monitoring Group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies and the BlackSeaNews portal, announced this on December 27.

According to him, on December 23-24, three tankers with Russian crude oil arrived simultaneously in the Laconian Gulf: TRIDENT HOPE under the flag of Panama, SOVEREIGN under the flag of Liberia and ANAFI WARRIOR under the flag of Greece.
“Thus, about 270,000 tons of Russian crude oil arrived in the territorial waters and exclusive economic zone of Greece, an EU member state. The sanctioned Russian bloody oil will be reloaded on other tankers for delivery to EU countries,” Klymenko insisted.
He drew attention to the fact that all three offending tankers had ship owners from Greece.
“The time of this violation was not chosen by chance – during the Christmas and New Year holidays of many civil servants in the EU and the European Commission,” added the journalist.
It will be recalled that on December 5, a ban on the import of oil from the Russian Federation by sea was implemented. In addition, more than 30 countries around the world have set a price ceiling for oil from Russia at $60 per barrel.
