President of the Republic Dina Boluarte announced an increase in the Christmas bonus received by public sector employees.
As reported, the Government agreed that this year bonus which civil servants receive increases from S/300 to S/500.
“In order for our sisters and brothers to have a good time at least this Christmas, we are going to give a Christmas bonus more than the 300 sols that have been given to them all their lives; We are going to give 500 soles as a Christmas bonus to the Peruvian population, those who are in shape and receive their Christmas bonus every Christmas,” he said at the Sunday Punto final.
The head of state assured that this increase in labor benefits for employees of the state administration was agreed with Ministry of Economics.
What is a bonus?
Public sector employees do not receive bonuses, just like employees of private companies.
The Christmas Bonus is a benefit received by public sector employees also twice a year. As stated in Public Sector Budget for Fiscal Year 2022each of these bonuses was to be S/300.
Who gets the bonus?
The Christmas bonus is paid to officials and employees appointed and hired in accordance with the labor regime of Legislative Decree No. 276, Law No. 29944 and Law No. 30512.
It is also received by university professors mentioned in Law No. 30220, in medical staff which refers to the number 3.2 of article 3 of Legislative Decree No. 1153, to permanent and temporary employees of the public sector, as well as to the personnel of the armed forces and the national police of Peru.
Similarly, pensioners in charge of the state included in the regimes of Law No. 15117, Decree-Laws No. 19846 and No. 20530, Supreme Decree No. 051-88-PKM and Law No. 28091 are paid in the same way.
To get your Christmas bonus staff from the public sector had to work as of November 30 of the current year, on vacation or on paid vacation.
