The First Lady of Ukraine announced that this medical facility will focus on prosthetics for adults and children.
One of the hospitals in the Lviv region will be turned into a specialized clinic for prosthetics and reconstruction of Superhumans through modernization. Its purpose is rehabilitation after the war. In addition, the medical institution will provide its services free of charge to Ukrainian citizens. The first lady of Ukraine, Elena Zelenskaya, spoke about it, the press service of the president reported on Thursday, December 22.
The Superhumans Clinic focuses on prosthetics for adults and children, surgical operations to reconstruct and restore disfigured body parts, especially the face, and the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.
Medical services provided by Superhumans will be free for Ukrainians – both military and civilian. The clinic will have 100 beds, two operating rooms, a laboratory for making prostheses and a physiotherapy department.
In the rehabilitation building there will be a unique opportunity for Ukraine to combine methods – water and conventional. In the center, which is equipped with a large swimming pool, the patient will be provided with complex training systems that will help restore the motor skills of the limbs as soon as possible and return to independent life.
The German company Ottobock, a technology leader for the production of various types of prostheses, orthoses and exoskeletons, is working on the launch of a laboratory for the production of prostheses from Superhumans. Ossur, a leading manufacturer of bionic and other prostheses from Iceland, is also giving the team advice on how to start their own production of prostheses efficiently and affordably.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Superhumans and the Ministry of Health. The site of the future clinic is currently undergoing an active renovation phase.
Recall that Zelenskaya has previously presented her charitable foundation.
