French President Emmanuel Macron promised to supply Ukraine with Caesar air defense systems and self-propelled artillery systems in early 2023.
According to him, in recent days, France has sent Crotale air defense systems to Ukraine, and the planned deliveries include new Caesar self-propelled guns.
Some of these self-propelled guns were originally made to order for Denmark.
I am not yet ready to name the exact number of systems for Ukraine. It depends on further negotiations with Copenhagen, said French President Emmanuel Macron in a television interview.
France has delivered promised anti-aircraft missile systems and other weapons to Ukraine, and will send a new batch to Kyiv early next year, including Crotale anti-aircraft missile systems and additional equipment.
Macron spoke to TF1 and LCI journalists aboard the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle off the coast of Egypt. The conversation took place the day before a visit to Jordan, where Macron will take part in a regional summit.
Together with the Minister of Defense [Себастьєном Лекорнем] we are working to deliver the necessary new weapons and ammunition to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2023 so that Ukrainians can defend themselves from shelling,” Macron said.
Planned deliveries will include the new Caesar self-propelled artillery mounts, but Macron did not specify the volume of deliveries.
According to him, the exact number of self-propelled guns will depend on the results of negotiations with Denmark, which ordered this installation in France and may agree to transfer at least part of them to Kyiv.
Earlier, Rakurs wrote that Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said: in 2023, military assistance to Ukraine will come monthly, since many contracts for the supply of necessary weapons and ammunition have been signed next year.
