Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, said that 80% of those who left continued to work for Russian companies.
About 100 thousand IT specialists will leave the Russian Federation in 2022, which is about 10% of the total number of employees. This was announced by the head of the RF Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev, Interfax reports.
“In fact, we have, if we take two waves of departure of IT specialists, up to 10% of employees of IT companies leave the country and do not return. If we take the total, 100 thousand IT specialists are outside our country,” he noted.
According to Shadayev, 80% of those who left continue to work for Russian companies.
He added that the department opposes severe restrictions on remote work for such specialists.
“The main proposal that we now propose to discuss is not to introduce severe restrictions on the possibility of remote work for such employees, because this, of course, will push them to get a job in foreign companies,” he said. Shadayev.
Remember that in the Russian Federation, the departure of foreign IT companies is called an “acquisition”. The Kremlin assured that now Russia is “left to itself” and the empty niches will allegedly be occupied by Russian products.
It was also reported that Ukraine’s IT industry grew by 13% during the war.
