Naev noted that currently the enemy has enough potential to create a threat to Ukraine and carry out tactical actions.
Training of Russian guidance aircraft and interceptor aircraft carrier of air-launched ballistic missiles Kinzhal in the airspace of Belarus is carried out to clarify targets on the territory of Ukraine. This is what the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Naev, said.
“These exercises are conducted for the sole purpose of clarifying the targets on the territory of Ukraine intended for launching missile strikes by the aggressor. But, accordingly, we are taking all measures to reduce the level of this threat,” he said.
According to Naev, the second motorized rifle division of the first tank army and an aviation group, which includes the latest aviation models of the aerospace forces of the Russian armed forces, are concentrated on the territory of Belarus. In addition, there are units armed with the Iskander operational-tactical missile system with ballistic missiles for them, intended for use against targets on the territory of Ukraine.
According to the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this potential is currently sufficient to create a threat to Ukraine and carry out tactical actions.
“At the same time, we are closely monitoring the weapons being sent from Russia and conducting corresponding checks every day. The military threat level is gradually increasing, but we are also taking adequate measures. In addition, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces provides for a significant increase in groupings in the event of a significant increase in funds from the opposite side,” added Naev.
