Bulgarian law enforcement detained two Ukrainian citizens who illegally transported 12 kilograms of gold from Turkey to Ukraine. Bulgarian National Radio reported this on Monday, December 19.
It was reported that the Yambol district prosecutor’s office detained the women for up to 72 hours when they tried to transport jewelry under their clothes.

At the border, the women said they had nothing to declare, but during the examination and search of the body, customs officials found a total of 30 packages of jewelry wrapped in electrical tape. The confiscated jewelry is worth 544.6 thousand euros.
