Russians expected to reach Kyiv within 18 hours – NYT

One of the Russian military said they couldn’t even come close to fulfilling the planned plan.

The Russians initially planned to reach Kyiv from the border in 18 hours. However, the invaders did not carry out the planned plan. About this on Saturday, December 17, The New York Times wrote.

According to the published schedule of the invaders, the first cars were supposed to leave Belarus and arrive near Kyiv earlier than specified by the Russian command.

At the same time, the Russian military announced the invasion of Ukraine hours before it began. Representatives of OMON and SOBR went in the first column.

One of the Russian military said they couldn’t even come close to fulfilling the planned plan. The fact is that the military equipment became too heavy and simply blocked, as a result, the Russians spent more than a day to cross the border with Ukraine.

“The command of the invaders gave resistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but they planned an almost uninterrupted 24-hour forced march over a distance of 400 kilometers. The Russians had to dig in for about two hours from Kyiv and block the Ukrainian. defenders, who, in their opinion, should advance from the South and the East,” the newspaper wrote.

However, things are not as easy as the invaders think. Further, the situation for the invaders only worsened – the blows of the Ukrainian fighters, hundreds of wounded and dead invaders and destroyed equipment of the Russians.

Remember, The New York Times said that the United States tried to prevent Ukraine from killing the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, during his visit to the war zone in Ukraine.
