On the occasion of Ground Forces Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday, December 12, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented servicemen with high state awards and military ranks. This was reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine.
The President highly appreciates the role of the Ground Forces in protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression.
“Soldiers, officers, commander of the Ground Forces Alexander Syrsky, all mechanized and tank troops, missile troops and artillery, army aviation and air defense, logistic and technical support units, special troops – these are thousands of fighters which every day and night proves. that Ukraine did not win, but the Ukrainians were not conquered,” he emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the soldiers of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have shown their effectiveness and extraordinary stability since 2014, and hundreds of cities and villages of Ukraine were liberated thanks to the soldiers on the ground.
Zelensky presented awards to fighters, including the Order of the Golden Star, who received the title of Hero of Ukraine. Some of these awards are given to relatives of fallen Heroes.
Recall that on the Day of Dignity and Freedom and the Day of Airborne Assault Forces, in conjunction with the calendar, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented awards to military and civilian personnel.
It was also reported that the head of state signed decrees on the posthumous awarding of police officers who died in the Kherson region.
