This 1,000-meter power unit was disconnected from the network the previous day due to the need to de-assert the current backup protection transformer.
On Sunday, December 11, a 1,000-strong VVER-1000 power unit of one of the nuclear power plants was reconnected to the Ukrainian power grid. This was reported by NAEK Energoatom.
It was noted that yesterday, December 10, this power unit was disconnected from the network due to the need to remove the sentence of the backup protection current transformer.
Energoatom reported that the restoration work of another VVER-1000 power unit, which was damaged as a result of the shelling of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine on November 23, 2022, has also been completed.
“In the coming days, it will also be connected to the network,” the message said.
As mentioned in the company, with the exception of Zaporozhye NPP, all power units at all nuclear power plants in Ukraine are operating at maximum capacity. And the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP, the activation of which was blocked by the military of the Russian Federation, continues to consume almost 100 MW of electricity for its own needs from the energy system of Ukraine.
It will be remembered that on November 23, all units of the Rivne, Pivdennoukrainsk and Khmelnytsky nuclear power plants were turned off due to a decrease in frequency in the Ukrainian energy system after another Russian rocket attack.
Earlier, Energoatom reported that the Russian Federation was preparing a provocation at ZNPP.
