In Novovolynsk, two tourist gas cylinders exploded in an apartment building, a woman was injured. This was announced on December 10 by the press service of the State Emergency Service in the Volyn region.
It was noted that the incident took place on Saturday at 16.16 in the five-story building of the Shakhtyorsky microdistrict of the city. The State Emergency Service, an ambulance and an emergency gas service immediately arrived at the scene.
“The explosion occurred in an apartment on the fifth floor. According to preliminary data, a tourist gas cylinder exploded, and another one exploded from it. There was a mother with two children in the apartment. The woman received a minor burns. The man, who was just approaching the bedroom door, was thrown down the stairs,” the rescuers said.
The windows and doors in the apartment were broken, a fire broke out that consumed household items, ceilings and walls.
The State Emergency Service reminds that the use of gas cylinders in apartments is prohibited.
