In addition, thanks to another operation, since April 17 of this year, several regions on the Iraqi border have been cleared of terrorists.
Akar stressed that Ankara will continue the fight against terrorism with the same determination.
“No one, especially the countries that stabilize the region, should expect Turkey to ignore the actions of terrorists operating near its borders. The Turkish Armed Forces have taken and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the security of the country and people,” the minister said.
He added that the Turkish army’s only target was and remains terrorists from any criminal gangs.
“For Turkey, there is absolutely no difference between the terrorist organization PKK and its criminal branch YPG in Syria. PKK and YPG / PYD are two sides of the same coin. We are determined to save the country and people from in this plague,” the Defense. The Minister assured.
Remember, on November 20, Turkish Air Force aircraft attacked Kurdish positions in several settlements in northern Syria, in particular, in the strategically important city of Kobani.
The airstrikes were Ankara’s response to an explosion in Istanbul on November 13, which killed six people and wounded more than 80. Turkish authorities blamed the PKK and its affiliated Kurdish groups for the attack.
