    On December 8, the Kiev City Council approved the renaming of 32 streets, lanes and boulevards in the capital.

    This was announced by the mayor of the city Vitali Klitschko.

    Deputies of the Kyiv City Council at today’s meeting renamed 32 more streets, lanes and boulevards, whose names are associated with Russia and the Soviet past. In particular, they renamed Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard to Boulevard named after the founder of the Ukrainian army, Mykola Mikhnovsky, the report says.

    Klitschko noted that 237 city objects have already been renamed in the capital. In November, the Kyiv City Council de-Russified 12 streets of the capital.

    At the end of October, the deputies supported the renaming of more than 40 streets. In early September, there are also about 40 streets. In particular, Moskovskaya Street in the center of the city was renamed into Knyazey Ostrozhsky Street. And at the end of August, the deputies renamed 95 Kyiv streets, squares and lanes.

    On Thursday, they supported such a list of renames.

    In Goloseevsky district:

    • Kholmogorskaya street – to Vladimir Samoylenko street;

    • Vasily Zhukovsky Lane – to Leopold Yashchenko Lane;

    • Marshal Govorov street – General Momot street.

    In the Darnitsky district:

    • Engels lane – to Bogdan-Igor Antonych lane;

    • Turgenev lane – to Alexander Barvinsky lane;

    • Engels street – to Athanasius Slastion street.

    In Desnyansky district:

    • Kutuzov street – to Ivan Kozhedub street;

    • Suvorov street – to Sergey Kotenko street;

    • Academician Kurchatov street – Orest Levitsky street.

    In the Pechersk region:

    • Nikolai Raevsky Street – to Pavel Zagrebelny Street;

    • Druzhby Narodov Boulevard – to Nikolai Mikhnovsky Boulevard.

    In the Podolsk region:

    • Odoevsky lane – to Alexander Voinov lane;

    • Dostoevsky street – to Andy Wargol street;

    • Orskaya street – on Vasily Yazyka street.

    In the Svyatoshinsky district:

    • Prishvin street – to Ivan Trush street;

    • Mikhail Svetlov street – to Alexander Doroshkevich street;

    • Vasily Aleksukhin street – to Stepan Choban street;

    • General Avdeenko street – to Gennady Matulyak street;

    • Generala Potapov street – to Vasily Domanitsky street;

    • Yasnopolyanskaya street – to Klim Churyumov street;

    • Sosnin Family Street – Ivan Dzyuba Street.

    In the Solomensky district:

    • Ulyana Gromova street – to Ekaterina Stupnitskaya street;

    • Julius Fucik street – to Karel Capek street;

    • Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya street – to Sofia Galechko street;

    • Metallistov street – to Mikhail Braichevsky street;

    • Kachalov street – to Vladimir Kachaly street.

    In Shevchenko district:

    • Teshebaeva street – to Alexander Brinzhaly street;

    • Tolbukhin street – to Vasily Danilevich street;

    • Krylovsky Lane – to the Architect Ivan Zarudny Lane;

    • Tolbukhin Lane – to Mikhail Yalovy Lane;

    • Akademika Grekov Street – to the Glagolev Family Street;

    • Kirponos street – to Vsevolod Petriv street.
