A Croatian Air Force MiG jet crashed on Tuesday (December 6th) during a training flight, and a search is underway to find the pilots who were on board, the Defense Ministry said. The Russian-made plane crashed at around 14:00 (13:00 Paris time) near the town of Slatina in eastern Croatia, in an uninhabited area, the same source said.
According to local mass media, one of the two pilots managed to jump down. On the other hand, the media do not report details about the second one. EU and NATO member Croatia bought twelve used French-made Rafale jets last year to replace its aging Migs. The first Rafales are expected in Croatia in 2024.
