More than 200 fighters of the Special Forces of the partially recognized Kosovo entered the territory of the municipality of North Mitrovica, where the majority of the population is Serbs. This was reported on Thursday evening, December 8, by Kosovo-Online.
It was noted that the Kosovo special forces blockaded the entire municipality. They explained the existence of the need to ensure security.
As the forces entered North Mitrovica, Kosovo special forces threw two stun grenades. Despite this, the situation in the municipality is tense, but calm.
Before that, the Kosovo police announced an increase in the coming days in the northern municipality, where the majority of Kosovo Serbs live.
“Due to the current situation and trends in northern municipalities, the police will increase their presence in the north,” – this is how the law enforcement agency explained this step.
