The head of the zrzutka.pl auction, where funds were raised, Bartosz Janovich said that the Ukrainian side took the initiative to conduct an auction of memorabilia donated by athletes.
Among other things, memorabilia donated by Ukrainian boxers Vitaliy and Wladimir Klitschko and Vasily Lomachenko, as well as items donated by Polish footballer Grzegorz Krychowiak, were put up for auction.
The organizers want to encourage other Polish and Ukrainian athletes, as well as athletes from other countries, to donate their cups or sports memorabilia to the auction.
Donors who donate the largest amount will receive, among other things, autographed photographs of the Klitschko brothers or Grzegorz Krychowiak’s boots.
The charity Kulsky Foundation also joined the activities to promote the auction, which has been providing medical aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
