Russia’s attack on Ukrainian energy facilities set the energy system back a week.
Russia’s latest missile attack on Ukraine effectively knocked out the Ukrainian energy system for a week. Sergey Kovalenko, CEO of YASNO, wrote about this on Facebook on Tuesday, December 6.
According to him, on December 6 in Kyiv, the available capacity was at the level of 62-67% of normal consumption.
“In Kiev today, the available power is at the level of 62-67% of normal consumption. In fact, the last attack set us back almost a week. But I hope that we will quickly return to the schedules of stabilization,” Kovalenko said.
According to him, active work is carried out in condominiums and office housing of residential buildings, which are connected to critical infrastructure.
“There is already a solution for 474 houses – the management companies are ready to turn themselves off in case of emergency or stabilization outages. I thank the city authorities for a difficult decision. Why is it important – due to the conditions of significant restrictions, the main goal is to provide electricity to critical infrastructure,” – explained Kovalenko, adding that the rest can be distributed evenly among the population.
It will be recalled that Ukrenergo said that it will take several days to restore the amount of electricity production to the level before the attack.
