The Polish Seimas approved changes to the Law on Social Assistance for Ukrainians living in the country. The changes made provide for the extension of financial support for Ukrainians for another 60 days. On Wednesday, April 27, Onet.pl.
The publication clarified that we are talking about housing, food for refugees.
As mentioned, an absolute majority of 429 representatives voted for such an initiative, while only 10 representatives of the ultra-right “Confederation” voted against it. Prior to that, at the request of the Confederation, the Seimas considered the issue of rejection of the initiative, but did not support it.
The bill provides for the extension of the period of assistance for the provision of housing and food to refugees from Ukraine up to 120 days. This is 60 days more than provided by current law. The cost of such assistance per person is PLN 40 (about UAH 300) per day.
Changes in the law also provide for the possibility of control over these payments.

To be implemented, legislative changes must be approved by the Senate and signed by President Andrzej Duda.
