In the southern regions of the Russian Federation, strikes in regions bordering Ukraine are not excluded and bomb shelters are being prepared.
Ukraine must decide for itself whether to seek to transfer the conflict to the territory of the Russian Federation. This was announced on Wednesday, April 27, by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who stressed that this is the State’s official position, CNBC reports.
According to him, for now, Washington aims to give Ukrainians everything necessary to expel the Russian occupiers from the territory of Ukraine.
“A separate question is whether Ukrainians should take actions beyond their borders. My own view is that it is important for them to do everything necessary to protect themselves from Russian aggression. And the choice of tactics in this case is their own decision, ”Blinken said in a speech to the Senate.
At the same time, Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, announced the need for a working warning system for citizens and bring bomb shelters “in proper condition.”
Patrushev added that among the important tasks should also be the strengthening of the material and technical base and the recruitment of highly qualified personnel for departments and organizations whose duties include ensuring chemical and biological safety.
Earlier, Britain said Ukraine had the right to strike over Russia’s military infrastructure.
In response, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that, following the logic of the British minister, Russia could strike the military targets of NATO countries providing weapons to Kyiv.
