A State Department spokesman said Washington had not provided Kyiv with weapons capable of hitting targets in Russia.
The US State Department said it had not provided weapons to Ukraine for strikes outside its territory, and had not encouraged Kyiv to attack targets on Russian territory. Ned Price, a spokesman for the US State Department, said this on Tuesday in a briefing.
“We have not given the Ukrainians weapons for their use on Russian territory. We have clearly stated that these are defense supplies,” Price said in response to a question about the latest explosions at the airports of Russian military.
He also stressed that no side has claimed responsibility for these explosions, and noted that he did not want to speculate.
At the same time, Price emphasized that the defense assistance provided by the United States earlier did not give Ukraine the opportunity to strike on the territory of the Russian Federation, “and we do not encourage Ukraine to strike outside of its boundaries.” According to him, the United States has supplied Ukraine with all the necessary defense weapons for use on its own sovereign territory against the aggressor.
The spokesperson of the Department of State added that the States, including the entire North Atlantic community, as well as Ukraine, seek to end the aggression of Russia in terms of a just peace, and did not agree to a cease-fire that is available of the Russian Federation to recover.
“We want peace, Ukrainians want peace, the transatlantic community wants peace. What we don’t want are stoppages,” the State Department spokesman said.
He explained, if you get a pause instead of peace, “we know that President Putin will use it to re-equip, re-equip, regroup (his forces – ed.) and, most likely, go back in Ukraine with a new vengeance. .”
“This is not in the interest of a just and, moreover, lasting peace,” Price stressed.
According to him, what should be a just world, the President of Ukraine spoke clearly, in particular, during the G20 summit.
Remember, on the eve of an unknown drone attacked the airport in Russian Kursk near the Ukrainian border. As a result of the drone attack, the oil reservoir caught fire. And in the Bryansk region, drones attacked the Slava plant.
