Like many Americans, John Bolton, Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, was angered by the former president’s recent call to “finish” the articles of the constitution so he could be reinstated as chief executive.
But many Twitter users were unimpressed with his solution to Trump’s problem: running for president.
Bolton Monday condemned Trump on Twitter for suggesting the Constitution should be overturned to accommodate his unproven claims of election fraud.
He has also threatened to run against Trump in 2024 if other GOP candidates do not reject the former president’s anti-American suggestion to suspend the nation’s main legal document.
Bolton probably thought his threat to run would appeal to voters who want a so-called principled conservative to run for the nation’s best job, but in the process he ignored a little thing known as ” reality”.
The truth is, Bolton doesn’t attract anyone.
Republicans don’t like him because he criticizes Trump’s ability to be president. Even those who dislike Trump accuse Bolton of being more interested in selling books than testifying under oath to Congress in Trump’s first impeachment trial.
Unsurprisingly, there was much derision on Twitter.
