“I think Kate came out of Titanic a bit traumatized by the scale of the production and her responsibility within it,” Cameron told the Radio Times. (via HuffPost UK) from his 1997 blockbuster, which catapulted the 22-year-old Winslet to international fame.
Winslet will finally appear in another Cameron film 25 years after “Titanic” in his upcoming sequel “Avatar.” He will play the role of Ronal, a matriarch of the Oceanic Na’vi clan, Metkayina.
“We’ve both always been keen to work together again, to see what each other is up to at this point in our lives and careers,” Cameron said.

He then noted that the “Mare of Easttown” star’s energy has changed a lot since the ’90s.

He also talked about working 90-hour weeks and getting hypothermia after long periods of filming in cold waters.
“You’d have to pay me a lot of money to work with Jim again,” she said at the time.

However, the “Mare of Eastown” star recently told The Telegraph that while the Titanic set was “rough”, Cameron is a “genius” and seems a little more relaxed these days.
“I really enjoyed making Avatar with Jim, he’s a lot calmer now. In those days, there was no room for him to say, “It might not work.” He had to make it work,” Winslet said. “There were all those conversations about this huge movie, ‘Titanic.’ I can’t imagine the pressure. As we grow older, we learn to say, “I made a mistake.” We’re all getting better, aren’t we?”
