There are no direct negotiations about security in the ZNPP with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, the Kremlin said.
Russia will not transfer control of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to some third party. This was announced on Monday, December 5, by the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
“There can be no talk of any withdrawal of ZNPP from Russian control or transfer of control over it to some third party,” he said.
“The station is located on the territory of Russia and is fully controlled by Russia. We proceed from the fact that only we can ensure the physical and nuclear safety of ZNPP,” Zakharova said.
In this regard, the press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Sergiy Nikiforov, said that ZNPP should come under the control of Energoatom.
“The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant should be under the control of SE NAEK Energoatom, there should be no strangers in the plant itself,” commented his press secretary in the position of the President of Ukraine.
“The position on ZNPP does not change. The station must be under the control of Ukraine and must be completely demilitarized and connected to the Ukrainian network. This is what we continue,” he added.
According to Nikiforov, other conditions may be subject to discussion at the IAEA.
Recall, the Russian edition of Meduza claims that the Kremlin regime is allegedly considering the option of withdrawing Russian troops from the captured Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in exchange for guarantees of uninterrupted oil transit and gas through Ukraine.
