The future security architecture of Europe after the restoration of peace in Ukraine must include security guarantees for Russia, says Emmanuel Macron
The head of the parliamentary group of the Servant of the People, David Arahamia, laid out the terms of possible negotiations on security guarantees for Russia, which French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned on Saturday. What needs to be done for this, Arahamia wrote in his Telegram on Saturday, December 3.
“Ukraine can provide ‘security guarantees’ for Russia, but for this the aggressor country must fulfill a number of conditions,” he wrote.
Arahamia emphasized that for the “security” that Macron is talking about, it is enough for Russia: leave the territory of our country, pay reparations, punish all war criminals, voluntarily surrender those nuclear weapon.
He emphasized that only if the above conditions are met, Ukraine can sit at the negotiating table and discuss security guarantees.
Note that Arahamia was the leader of the negotiating group with the Russians in the spring.
Remember, the French President said the West should consider how to meet Russia’s need for security guarantees if President Vladimir Putin agrees to negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
