The Turkish leader continues to defend the opinion that Russia’s military aggression can be stopped with the help of diplomacy.
All parties should be interested in the rapid continuation of the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine. This is what Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Turkish Anadolu news agency reported on Friday, December 2.
“The earliest restoration of ground for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will be in the interest of all parties,” the Turkish leader believes.
The leaders of the two countries also discussed bilateral relations in the fields of trade and defense industry.
In addition, according to the Turkish leader, “new and concrete steps” are needed to resolve the Cyprus issue.
Recall, Erdogan said earlier that the “grain agreement” and the exchange of prisoners between the Russian Federation and Ukraine proved the validity of a diplomatic settlement.
We add that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu claims that the war between Ukraine and Russia will end “only at the negotiating table.”
