Hungarian Prime Minister Orban said he would veto the EU plan to provide Ukraine with 18 billion euros. He proposed that each of the 27 EU member states provide assistance to Ukraine from its own budget through bilateral agreements.
The question is how to help Ukraine. One of the proposals says that we should use the budgets of the EU member states to jointly take new loans and give this money to Ukraine. We are not for it because we do not want the European Union to become a community of debtor states instead of a community of cooperating member states,” he said.
According to Orban, it is necessary to share the costs of supporting Ukraine, and each country must pay separately from its budgets.
In addition, the Hungarian Prime Minister is dissatisfied with the fact that Ukraine is provided with funds not only for military needs, but also for the functioning of the state.
Racurs wrote that the European Union is against helping the Hungarians for 7.5 billion euros, since Budapest did not fulfill the reform plan.
